Chief Justice Pakistan here on Saturday proceeding with a suo motu action on deteriorating condition of public sector hospitals in the Lahore, directed the Punjab government to come up with reports on budget of the hospitals, health facilities and medicine being provided to the citizens. The CJP warned the government authorities to stop Orange Line Metro Train Project if the health and education sectors were not given the due care.

The bench directed the MS of various public hospitals to come up with reports on facilities and budget of their hospitals along with their affidavits. Attorney General of Pakistan, Punjab Chief Secretary, health officials and medical superintendents of public sector hospitals were present there in the court. "Why the doctors of public sector hospitals run the private clinics," the CJP asked the officials, saying that "We'll shut down these clinics".

Addressing Punjab Chief Secretary Zahid Saeed, the CJP said, "I'm concerned with the health facilities being provided to the citizens and no one should tell me that this was not possible," he remarked. "We didn't take the notice to proceed against anyone but we are providing you shoulder to address the issues," Justice Ijaz Nisar said and called reports from the Punjab government.
